nudists and tattoos

One thing that surprised me when I attended my first nudist event was the number of tattoos in evidence. Do nudists have more tattoos than non-nudists, or is it just that you can see the ones you otherwise wouldn’t?

I think that’s partly the case. I knew a guy that was completely tattooed from his cuffs to neckline to ankles and, clothed, you wouldn’t know he had even one. Neither did his family.

Another factor may be that when one sheds clothes, one begins to feel more free and receptive to other ideas that might have seemed outlandish previously.

I got a couple of small tats some years after I lost my clothes, and have come to understand, if not share, some pretty ‘different’ lifestyles in a way I never could have before.

Think of nudism as a ‘gateway drug’ to tolorance, and acceptance of other’s lifestyles. Sorta. -Steve

I have thought about getting a tattoo for a while, and I love the idea of nudism as a ‘gateway drug.’

I’ve already acquired a number of mindsets or characteristics that marginalize me – I’m gay, I’m a non-theist, and a nudist. I don’t think I could ever go vegan, but I have seriously thought about vegetarianism too.

Just don’t get a tattoo with your wife’s (or special other’s) name on it a month before she, he, whatever, leaves you forever. Oops…

Lucky for me, Angie is pretty tolerant, to a degree. She allowed me to keep the arm.

And we’re part vegetarian, we eat vegatables sometimes.
