college nudists

Two items popped up in my Google Alerts today that involve college students and nudism.

In the first, some anthropology students at Bellevue College in Washington meet resistance when they try to form a nudist group on their campus. I can’t find any other references to this on the web right now, so I’m not sure if it’s an April Fools thing, or if it just hasn’t been covered by any other news media.

In Texas, a student checks out a nudist event held by The Hill Country Nudists, and has a very positive experience. Near the end, she talks about sharing a hot tub with two middle-aged men.

They’re asking me about my career goals and I am responding openly. I definitely feel naked, but I don’t feel exposed or sexually objectified.

I’m not sure about the first article either. It seems a little fishy. Students Against Public Indecency? I guess that could be a campus organization.

One quote in the article struck a nerve: “Freedom doesn’t mean you get to decide what is right and wrong for yourself,” Actrually, freedom does mean deciding what’s right and wrong for yourself, rather than letting someone else decide for you.

I did enjoy the second article. It seemed like a very positive experience.
